THE WORLD’S ON FIRE: BEST PRACTICES FOR REPORTING ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND A CHANGING CLIMATE , Application Deadline: 15 May 2024 5pm GMT  

The Journalism Education Trauma Research Group (JETREG) is issuing a paper/panel call for the first-of-its-kind conference to be hosted in the United States.  The conference will take place at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the site of the 1995 bombing.  It is the second annual international in-person conference organized by JETREG. UNESCO and the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma are among the co-sponsors of the event.

The Dart Center will host a reception, awards presentation and winners’ roundtable on October 17th at Columbia Journalism School featuring the 2024 Dart Award honorees. The roundtable discussion will illuminate questions of craft, ethics and storytelling, and explore innovative best practices in hard-hitting, humane reporting on violence and tragedy.
